Christine Leitner is Head of the Center for European Public Administration (CEPA) at Danube University Krems, Austria. She is programme director of the European eGovernment Awards. At CEPA she is responsible for educational programmes and research projects on public administration with a focus and European cross border cooperation and ICT. She is the course director of the executive Master of Public Administration.

From 1997 – 2006 she was Senior Lecturer at the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), the Netherlands, where she headed the eEurope Awards Project Management Secretariat from 2002 until 2006. Following a teaching assignment at the University of Vienna, she joined the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Vienna in 1992. In 1995, she was seconded to the European Commission where she worked on ICT standardisation policies.

She has been member of European and international working groups, such as the EPAN eGovernment group, the IFIP Working Group 8.5 and participated as expert in various international conferences and EU programmes. She was a judge in the 2005 Speyer Quality Award. Christine Leitner was Visiting Lecturer at Maastricht University, the University of Roma III and is author of various publications in the field of ICT and public administration.
