Siim Sikkut is the Government CIO of Estonia, also titled as Deputy Secretary General for IT and Telecom, in charge of digital government and society, also telecommunications and post areas. His role is to set the strategy and policies, to launch and steer strategic development initiatives and regulation, to represent the government in EU and other international organisations or collaboration in his domain.

Previously, he worked as information ICT policy advisor in Government Office of Estonia and economic policy and public governance expert in Estonian Development Fund, a public economic foresight think-tank. His experience also includes Estonian Ministry of Finance, in areas of national-level strategic planning and public financial management.

Siim Sikkut graduated in 2005 from Princeton University, USA with B.A. degree in public and international affairs. He also holds a M.Sc. in International Management in China from University of London.
