The Government of Bangladesh signed a strategic partnership to advance digital government
News
The Government of Bangladesh signed a strategic partnership with the e-Governance Academy (eGA) and the British Council to advance digital government. Over more than 23 years of international cooperation projects, the eGA experts have consistently seen that sustainable digital transformation succeeds when it is underpinned by strong political will and institutional leadership. This conviction was reaffirmed on 1 February 2026, when the Cabinet Division and the ICT Division of the Government of Bangladesh — the key institutions driving the country’s digital transformation at the government level – signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the eGA and the British Council.
The MoU was signed by Dr Md. Taibur Rahman (on behalf of the ICT Division), by Md. Jalal Habibur Rahman (on behalf of the Cabinet Division), by Piret Kuhlbars (on behalf of eGA), and by Arsen Stepp (on behalf of the British Council).
The agreement strengthens collaboration under the European Union–supported E-ffective Governance project. Through this partnership, the Cabinet Division and the ICT Division, together with the e-Governance Academy and the British Council, will work to accelerate the development of digital government and enhance the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of digital public services in Bangladesh in the coming years.
