Confidence Building and Social Cohesion in Moldova
The project supports Moldova’s EU integration by building trust and social cohesion on both sides of the Nistru river, in Gagauzia and other Moldovan regions with distinct ethnic or linguistic identities, with the aim of promoting dialogue, cooperation and inclusive development.
Jointly financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the project is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), the Polish Solidarity Fund (SFPL) and the e-Governance Academy (eGA).
Project objectives:
- Cross-river confidence building and cooperation for socio-economic and energy resilience, led by GIZ.
- Trust, inclusion and participatory decision-making at local/community level, led by SFPL.
- Private sector promotion for improved socio-economic perspectives and EU-Integration, led by GIZ.
The e-Governance Academy (eGA), with a budget of 1 million EUR, is responsible for and provides expertise for the digital dimension across all three project objectives.
eGA contributes to strengthening cross-river cooperation, social cohesion, and economic integration by designing and supporting digital governance solutions, online collaboration tools, citizen engagement and participation platforms, digital skills development, and cybersecurity awareness.
Through these activities, eGA helps create sustainable mechanisms for collaboration, participation, information sharing, and community engagement that complement and reinforce the project’s broader social cohesion and confidence-building objectives.
