Twenty years of building digital societies book
Download

In the first 20 years of digital governments, how has technology changed the way citizens and governments interact? What challenges do the leaders of digital transformation face now? What will the future of digital governments look like?

In this book, these questions are answered based on the rich experience that the experts at the Estonian e-Governance Academy (eGA) have accumulated over 20 years in building digital government in Estonia and championing digital transformation in more than 140 countries.

For politicians, public servants, and experts going through digital transformation, this book provides insight into the systematic approach that eGA advocates and practices. Twenty case studies from Estonia, Ukraine to Tonga illustrate its application.

The book includes the foreword of the former Estonia President Toomas Hendrik Ilves and highlights of eGA’s 20-year’s journey.

The publication is accessible enough for anyone interested in the digital transformation of governments and societies to get acquainted with the state of the art.
