eGA starts cooperation with the Government of Costa Rica
On September 9th, eGA signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications of Costa Rica to share e-governance best practices and plan joint e-governance development projects in Costa Rica.

The collaboration areas with Costa Rica include the implementation of a national data exchange layer based on the Estonian X-road, the development of digital identity, basic registries and databases, awareness building on cybersecurity and protection of critical infrastructure. Moreover, the agreement promotes studies related to e-governance, and partnerships with ICT companies in order to implement public e-services.
This memorandum of understanding was signed by Mr. Arvo Ott, the Executive Director of the e-Governance Academy, and H.E. Luis Adrián Salazar Solís, Minister of Science, Technology and Telecommunications of Costa Rica.
Minister Luis Adrián Salazar Solís visited eGA during his official mission to Estonia, where he met the Estonian ICT Minister Kert Kingo.
The Republic of Costa Rica is located in Central America and has a population of around 5 million.
