Today eGA signed a cooperation agreement with the Indian Ocean Commission and with the Ministry of Financial Services, Good Governance, Institutional Reforms and Innovation of the Republic of Mauritius to cooperate in the field of information and communication technology.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Arvo Ott, Executive Director of e-Governance Academy, and Sudarshan Bhadain, Minister of Technology, Communication and Innovation of the Republic of Mauritius, and Jean Claude de l’Estrac, Secretary General of the Indian Ocean Commission.

The focus of the cooperation is on implementing the national data exchange layer and on developing digital identity, basic registries and databases for the Republic of Mauritius and for the countries of the Indian Ocean Commission. Moreover, the parties will support the creation of an e-Governance Academy as a hub for the Member States of the Indian Ocean Commission and for South East Africa.
