Inspiration seminar: ‘How can we promote open governance in Estonian cities and municipalities?’
Speaking at this seminar, which was organised by the e-Governance Academy, was American e-democracy visionary Steven Clift, who shared his remarkable knowledge and experience.
In addition to highlighting international practice, the renowned guest speaker also held an interactive workshop to come up with ideas and solutions that would enable Estonia’s local governments and the community to work together more effectively.
So that the seminar would be relevant to the situation in Estonia and speak to the local government representatives attending, a list of useful examples was provided to Clift for him to comment on in his presentation.
Representatives of local governments, civic associations and the IT community attended the seminar, which was held at the conference centre of the Riigikogu in Tallinn.
The seminar was arranged by the e-Governance Academy in association with the NGO Fund and the National Foundation of Civil Society. Clift’s visit to Estonia was supported by the Embassy of the United States of America in Tallinn.
