Seminar: ‘10 years of e-voting in Estonia’
This seminar, organised by the e-Governance Academy and the Institute of Government and Politics of the University of Tartu, provided an overview of the results of a decade of research into Estonian e-voting and aimed to update good practice in e-voting. The results of a project conducted by researchers from the University of Tartu revealed the changes that had occurred in the behaviour and profile of e-voters in the preceding 10 years, how many voters made use of the option of checking their e-vote, how this impacted on people’s trust in e-voting and whether e-voting influenced turnout. The second half of the seminar saw representatives of political parties reviewing good practice in e-voting and signing the updated version thereof.
