e-Governance Academy is holding the conference “ICTs for the Support of Decentralization Reforms in Ukraine” on March 17, 2016 in Lviv (Ukraine) for high-level officials of Ukrainian municipalities and government.
The conference at Business Center & Hotel “Rius” is streamed on Youtube from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The event will discuss new cooperation models between the central government and local governments in the light of the decentralization reforms and share best practices and outcomes of the Swedish-Estonian projects. The representatives of Ukrainian local governments will present e-solutions such as Electronic Document Management System, Call-Center, Mobile Applications and Geographical Information System. The State Agency of e-Government will focus on the key elements of e-Government in Ukraine. Moreover, the conference will present good examples of Ukrainian administrative service centers implementing ICTs.
“The e-government solutions are making work of the municipal administration efficient and transparent. And most important – the e-government solutions are remarkably reducing the risk of corruption,” said Hannes Astok, Director for Development of e-Governance Academy.
“Today, e-governance is the key to reforms in Ukraine. Decentralization reform covers all life activities. Local organizations will have to perform more functions with limited resources. Hence, a lot of things will depend on the capacity development of local communities and a big role in this process belongs to the tools of e-governance”, outlined Aleksei Vyskub, Deputy director of State Agency of e-Government in Ukraine.
The conference is organized within the framework of the project “e-Governance Support to Ukraine” supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through Development Cooperation funds.
