In Windows 7, you can find a program called Magnifier if you click on the “Start” menu button at the bottom left, type Magnifier (the first few letters are enough) and press Enter. A small window will open in which everything is magnified. By default, the program tracks the position of the mouse cursor. Digital governance enhancement in Guatemala
Digital transformation is reshaping how governments operate, and Guatemala is ready to take a bold step forward. Today, fragmented systems, limited coordination, and a digital divide hinder its prosperity, modern governance, and citizen-centred services.
Over the next 42 months, the EU-funded “Digital Governance Enhancement in Guatemala” project will strengthen governance, boost institutional capacity, and implement interoperability solutions. Through hands-on pilots, co-creation, training, and joint efforts, Guatemalan stakeholders will be stronger to lead a coordinated and widely accepted digital transformation.
The project aims to build a more advanced, efficient, and inclusive digital governance system in Guatemala, where direct stakeholders take full ownership, ensuring sustainable progress aligned with global and European best practices.
Objectives:
- Stakeholders operate within a clear, future-ready digital governance framework.
- Stakeholders manage and sustain the progress through enhanced capacities, and tested interoperability solutions.
- Stakeholders are empowered through strengthened institutional capacity, inclusive engagement, and increased digital awareness.
Outputs:
- Detailed overview of Guatemala’s digitalisation landscape and a practical roadmap of digital transformation activities.
- Recommendations for digital governance strategy and improving legal frameworks based on best practices and national development goals.
- Research on the current interoperability situation in the country, as well as consultancy on implementing interoperability governance and data exchange principles.
- Co-creation sessions, workshops, training and capacity-building sessions to strengthen institutional capacity and raise digital awareness.
The project is coordinated by the e-Governance Academy and implemented in partnership with the Presidential Commission for Open and Electronic Government of Guatemala (GAE).
