Preparation for Implementation of eIDAS Regulation in Kosovo

The project prepared the implementation of eIDAS regulation in Kosovo for enabling secure and seamless electronic interactions between businesses, citizens and public authorities by electronic identification (eID) and Trust Services.

These are the key enablers for secure electronic interactions and cross-border transactions and central building blocks of the Digital Single Market in Europe.

Within the project e-Governance Academy’s experts assessed the situation and analysed the needs related to electronic ID in Kosovo. Based on the analysis and assessment, experts compiled a comprehensive report of identified eIDAS solution for Kosovo with its detailed description and performance indicators. Moreover, eGA experts completed a detailed eIDAS IT architecture proposed duly justified.

Based on the report and description of eIDAS IT architecture, the Ministry of Economy and Environment of Kosovo is prepared to implement eID in Kosovo in line with eIDAS regulations.
