Strengthening digital collaboration with Guatemala
On 11 November, eGA was delighted to host Guatemala’s Minister of Economy, Gabriela Garcia, in Estonia as she explores the country’s digital transformation journey. This high-level visit builds on the 2024 Memorandum of Understanding, marking a significant step forward in our partnership.
Reflecting on her visit, Minister Garcia noted, “Experiencing Estonia’s digital ecosystem firsthand made it clear — we need to act now to make our government data interoperable and foster transparency, efficiency, and anti-corruption in Guatemala’s public sector.”
During her stay, Minister Garcia met with Estonia’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Erkki Keldo, Deputy Secretary General Martin Roger, and eGA’s Hannes Astok to discuss future initiatives. Plans include Estonia-Guatemala shadowing missions and advisory visits to support a resilient, institutionalised digital transformation in Guatemala.
Minister Garcia also attends the Tallinn Cyber Diplomacy Summer School, gathering insights to strengthen cybersecurity globally.
