eGA supports the Ukrainian defence sector with new digital services
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine launched new digital services on the Reserv + app to streamline military management. The services were developed jointly with the e-Governance Academy under the EU-funded DT4UA project.
Available on the Reserv+ app, these services enable people with disabilities and students to apply for mobilisation postponements online. By removing the need for repeated in-person visits to Territorial Draft Centres, these services aim to ease administrative burdens and provide accessible solutions for those with specific needs and family responsibilities.
“Ukrainians will no longer need to wait in lines or collect documents to renew their draft postponement every three months. This also relieves Territorial Draft Centres staff from additional administrative burden. Most importantly, by launching online postponements, we continue to expand the ecosystem of products for conscripts, helping them address their needs not through waiting lines, but with just a few minutes and a smartphone,” said Kateryna Chernogorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digitalisation.
This digital solution is designed with inclusivity at its core. It spares people with disabilities and students from the repeated, often burdensome requirement of visiting draft offices to confirm their eligibility. Now, individuals who may, for example, have had disabilities since childhood no longer need to prove their status physically every few months.
“These new digital services for Ukrainian draftees underscore the strength of our collaboration with Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, European Union and other key partners. The e-Governance Academy is honoured to support Ukraine’s digital transformation that directly impacts both army management and the lives of millions of Ukrainians,” noted Hannes Astok, Chairman of the Management Board of the e-Governance Academy.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with the e-Governance Academy, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Social Policy, Ministry of Justice, and the Pension Fund, worked together extensively to make this service expansion possible.
In collaboration with eGA experts, the Oberih register was connected to the key state registers. The secure data exchange via the Trembita system ensures data accuracy and enables developing these newly released services in Reserv+.
