E-governance for civil society in Uzbekistan
This 2-year project trained judges and court officials, civil society representatives, as well as healthcare sector representatives from Uzbekistan in the field of the use of ICT (information and communications technology) in their work and the importance of e-society in general. In conjunction with national development plans for e-government in Uzbekistan, the aim was to improve capacity of its officials and citizens to utilize e-services. Each of the 45 selected participants were tasked with sharing the knowledge gained and supporting other members of their sector in following ICT developments in their country, at the same time learning up-to-date international good practices on e-solutions.
Four one-week trainings for delegations from Uzbekistan were organised during the project in good cooperation with Estonian MFA, USAID as well as with the UNDP, World Health Organisation and Center for Not-for-Profit Law as direct contributers.
