The delegates from 3 Georgian cities- Batumi, Kutaisi and Akhaltsikhe – visited e-Governance Academy on January 30 – February 2, 2018, to get a good overview of the e-tools for e-Governance and engagement of citizens in Estonian municipalities.

The goal of the visit was to test and implement similar models and tools in Georgia if there are interest and readiness to improve existing processes and solutions for enhancing transparency and increasing involvement of citizens in decision-making processes.

According to Kristina Reinsalu, this initiative will be implemented in Akhaltsikhe. “We are positive that this initiative will be an important step towards a more opened, inclusive and participatory engagement of citizen in local decision-making processes in Akhaltsikhe,” said Reinsalu.

The visit is part of the project “New e-Governance Initiatives to Meet OGP Commitments in Georgia”.
