Development of information society and e-services protection in Palestine

Duration December 2016 - May 2018

The project provided to Palestine government the knowledge in the areas of information systems resilience, electronic data exchange and support the development of new e-services. The Palestinian Zinnar data exchange solution, which is based on the Estonian X-Road, was updated in order to expand the possibilities for its use. Key personnel was acquired an understanding in the field of information society and safety of e-services and data exchange. The project also formulated the prerequisites for electronic identity in Palestine.

In addition, the project strengthened cooperation on the national level in Palestine and created better understanding of the values of the information society.

In the framework of the project were conducted following activities:

1) Computer security guidances and regulations for central government ICT organisations,
2) Trainings, seminars and awareness-raising activities,
3) Update of the central information exchange system Zinnar,
4) Roadmap for the electronic identity in Palestine.
