In Windows 7, you can find a program called Magnifier if you click on the “Start” menu button at the bottom left, type Magnifier (the first few letters are enough) and press Enter. A small window will open in which everything is magnified. By default, the program tracks the position of the mouse cursor. In Windows XP, you can find Magnifier by going to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > Magnifier.
On Apple computers, to use zoom, navigate to: Apple menu > System Preferences > Accessibility (or Universal Access) > Zoom.

Wherever I look, I see how technology is transforming our world for the better. Estonia is contributing to this progress by sharing its experience with countries in this region and beyond.
Furthermore, UNDP helped fund Estonia’s E-Governance Academy that is working around the globe to promote the advantages of ICTs for governance and citizen engagement.
We have to keep adding chapters to the success story of Estonia’s e-state, contributing to the understanding of the digitalised society and to analysing the problems and opportunities it presents. Championing this cause is the e-Governance Academy, which as a centre is shaping a new way of thinking in terms of how society as a whole is changing in the digital age.

Experiencing Estonia’s digital ecosystem firsthand made it clear — we need to act now to make our government data interoperable and foster transparency, efficiency, and anti-corruption in Guatemala’s public sector.
It has been a pleasure working with eGA experts to implement the secure interoperability system Heldin for the Faroe Islands. I hope and believe that this is just the beginning of our digital journey, and fruitful collaboration on digital and e-governance solutions will continue in the future.
We chose to learn from Estonia because of its renowned expertise in digital services. Our study visit provided invaluable insights, and two key takeaways stood out.
First, we recognised the critical need for all citizens to be registered and have a digital identity. Currently, only 64.1% of births and 41.9% of deaths are recorded in our national register. Establishing a comprehensive national digital register will help the Kenyan government accurately determine the total number of citizens, enabling better planning and delivery of public services. Additionally, linking birth and death registration will allow us to deactivate a citizen’s ID account upon their passing, significantly reducing cases of identity theft and fraud.
Second, we learned the importance of government institutions sharing data to eliminate duplication and improve efficiency. This collaborative approach will enhance service delivery and optimise resources.
Our visit to Estonia has been an eye-opening experience, and we are eager to apply these lessons to Kenya’s digital transformation journey.
