Anti-corruption conference in Moldova

The project “Educate.Engage, Empower. Community Tools against” finalized with big conference “Anticorr: How to engage the community in the fight against corruption in the public and private sectors?” , which was organised on 26 February jointly by eGA and local partner CPR Moldova.

The conference introduced the Anticor platform, disseminate the results of the project and shared ideas what CPR and other active actors in anticorruption field in Moldova should do in order to make the fight against corruption more impactful and efficient.

In the opening of the conference Kristina Reinsalu said that it has been an interesting journey to accomplish this project, but the works cannot stop here. To that end eGA experts and the  Board Member of Transparency International of Estonia, Steven-Hristo Evestus, shared Estonian best practice and lessons learned on anticorruption activities and measures. Liia Hänni introduced the main principles of effective e-platforms, Radu Serrano presented a comparison between e-services for businesses available in Moldova and Estonia, Steven-Hristo Evestus introduced his views and experiences on business integrity.

The conference was well received by Moldovan business and NGO communities – altogether more than 60 participants actively attended the event.

 

The aim of the project “Educate. Engage. Empower. Community Tools Against Corruption” was to make the society of Moldova more aware of corruption at all levels and more active in confronting it by educating, engaging and empowering the population to act against corruption through the use of ICT tools.

The project is financed by Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the funds of development cooperation and humanitarian aid and Open Society Institute of Open Society Foundation.
